Are you looking to play baseball but not sure where to start? Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced player, the Blue Sox have got you covered!

Who can join the Leicester Blue Sox?
Everyone! We have something for all skill levels — from complete beginners to seasoned players. If you’re interested in baseball and want to be part of a friendly, inclusive community, you’re in the right place. Our adult programme takes on players from age 13 with no upper age limit.
When and where do practices take place?
Our main training sessions are every Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm at Western Park, Leicester. This is where you’ll learn the basics, meet the team, and get started.
Do I need to bring any equipment?
No need to worry if you don’t have any baseball gear! We provide club bats, helmets, and gloves to get you started. Just wear comfortable clothing and trainers, bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated, and a light snack if you like.
What happens at training sessions?
At Wednesday practices, you will:
Master the fundamentals of baseball in a supportive environment
Meet coaches and teammates who will help you improve
Get a feel for the sport and our club culture
Is there a cost to join?
Your first month of training is completely free! This gives you the chance to try out baseball and the club before deciding to commit. After that, you can sign up to one of our teams.
What teams can I join after training?
We have several options depending on your skill level and goals:
Adult First Team: For competitive players, competing in the BBF National Baseball League (NBL) against teams from Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield and Long Eaton.
Adult Second Team (aka the 2Sox): For developing players competing in the BBF Division 4 Central against teams from Birmingham, Northampton and Milton Keynes.
Adult Development Team: Perfect for beginners and those still developing skills, playing friendly games and tournaments against similar-level teams in the Midlands and North.
How do I get started?
Just come along to a Wednesday practice at Western Park, Leicester, from 6pm to 8pm. No need to book or bring equipment—just your enthusiasm! Your first month is free, so you can try before you buy.

Do you have a kids team?
Yes we have the Blue Sox Kids Club situated at Stafford Orchard, Quorn who play and train on selected Saturday mornings. You can find more details about the Quorn Blue Sox here (ages 5-12).
